Driving Licence Renewal Application Form 9 PDF
You can apply for the renewal of a driving license by visiting your regional RTO office. You have to apply within 30 days after the license expires. The validity of the transport vehicle driving license is 3 years and the validity of the non-transport vehicle driving license is 5 years. If the driving license expired more than 5 years ago, then driving test will be conducted to renew the license. And only after passing the test, a new license will be issued.
A driving license is an official document issued by Regional Transport Authority (RTA) or Regional Transport Office (RTO) which lets a person drive his/her motor vehicle freely in and around the state. It can also be used as an identity card in non-driving contexts such as proof of identity (when opening a bank account) or age proof (when applying for a mobile connection).
Documents Required For Assam DL Renewal Form
Applicant must submit a self-attested copy of the given below documents to the RTO along with the correctly filled and signed application form for renewal of a driving licence:-
- 2 copies of recent passport size photograph
- Age proof- Birth Certificate, Passport, Educational certificate, Certificate from a state/ central government if you are an employee.
- Address proof- Passport, Voter’s ID, Ration card, etc.
- Medical Certificate in Schedule II
- In case of Commercial / Transport, H.M. Vehicle a driver refreshing Training Certificate.
- Copy of the original driving licence that has expired.
Applicant must submit application form to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) along with the necessary documents to renew the driving license. Then it will be scrutinized by the concerned authority to understand the specifics of the applicant’s current driving license. Only after that, driving license will be renewed.
Eligibility Criteria For Renewal of Driving Licence In Assam
Applicant must fulfill following conditions to apply for driving licence:-
- Applicant should be at least 16 years old for using a two-wheeler with an engine capacity of less than 50 cc.
- He/she must be at least 18 years old for using a vehicle with an engine capacity of more than 50 cc.
- Should be at least 20 years old for getting a heavy transport vehicle driving licence.
- He/she must be aware of all the traffic rules and regulations.
- The applicant must acquire temporary driving licence for at least 30 days but not more than 180 days before he/she applies for a permanent DL.
